Fifth Navaratari.....Mata SkandaMata



Jai Mata Dii…..Mata SkandaMata. - Fifth Durga

Goddess SkandaMata is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri & fifth reflection of the Goddess Durga worshipped on Navratri Panchmi is ‘Skanda Mata’, the mother of Skanda Kumar or Lord Kartikeya Lord Kartikeya was chosen by Devtas as their commander in chief in the war against the Devils.  
She usually holds Lord Skanda in his infant form and a lotus in her right hand which is slightly raised upwards. She has four arms, three eyes and a bright complexion, described seated on a lotus flower in her idol and therefore is called as Padamasani. The left arm of the goddess is in a pose to grant boons with grace to her devotees. Skandmata is the daughter of Himalaya and is also worshipped in the form of Parvati, Maheshwari or Mata Gauri

Fourth Navaratari.....Mata Kushmanda

Mata Kushmanda is worshiped on the fourth day of Navratri Utsav. Maa shines brightly with a laughing face in all ten directions as the Sun as she also the controls whole Solar system. In her eight hands, she holds various types of weapons in six hands and a rosary and a lotus in remaining hands. She rides on Lion.
She likes offerings of ‘Kumhde’, hence her name ‘Kushmanda’ has become popular.
Worship of Maa Kushmanda brings light into darkness and ignorance, gives true knowledge, destroys ego, disease, sorrow, depression, ignorance. Kumbh Bhand means to see cosmic. Due to her association with Brahmanda and Kushmanda She is popularly known as Goddess Kushmanda

Third Navaratari.....Maa Chandraghanta

Jai Mata Dii…..Today is the Third day of Navaratri , Maa Chandraghanta is the third reflection of Devi Durga and is worshipped on the 3rd of Navratri. She has a Chandra or half moon, also in the shape of a Ghanta (bell), on her forehead, she is addressed as Maa Chandraghanta. A symbol of peace, and prosperity, Maa has three eyes and ten hands holding ten types of swords, weapons and arrows. She establishes
justice and gives her devotees the courage and strength to fight challenges. Maa appearance may be of a source of power which is always busy killing and suppressing the bad and wicked. Maa also helps you discover Spiritual enlightenment. Her idol, which represents both beauty and bravery, gives you the strength the keep the negative energy away and repels all the troubles from your life.


We need to follow simple rites to worship Goddess Chandraghanta also we should first worship all the Gods, Goddesses and Planets in the Kalash and then offer prayer to Lord Ganesha and Kartikeya and Goddess Saraswati, Lakshmi, Vijaya, Jaya – the family members of Goddess Durga. The pooja should be concluded by worshipping Goddess Chandraghanta followed by a heartfelt prayer to Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma.

Second Navaratari.....Maa Brahmacharini





Jai Mata Dii Friends…..Today is the Second day of Navaratri , So on this day Maa Brahmacharini – A reflection of Maa Durga – is worshipped. The form of Goddess Brahmacharini is extremely bright and royal. Maa signifies love and loyalty, wisdom and knowledge.
She holds a rosary in her hight hand and a Kamandal in her left hand. She wears Rudraksha

She inspires you to hold on to your ethics and march on the path of duty. By the grace of Maa Brahmacharini, you strive to move forward in life without getting discouraged by the numerous challenges coming your way. Goddess Brahmcharini blesses you with great emotional strength and you may be able to keep your mental balance and confidence even in the darkest hour. Her blessings help you get rid of selfishness, ego, greed and laziness.

Therefore Maa Brahmcharini personifies love and loyalty and provides knowledge and wisdom.

First Navratri…..Mata Ghatasthapana



Jai Mata Dii Dosto today is first Navratri…..Mata Ghatasthapana is worshiped on first day & is one of the important rituals during Navratri. This marks the beginning of nine days festivity. Our scriptural have well defined rules and guidelines to perform Ghatasthapana during a certain period of time at the beginning of Navratri. Ghatasthapana is divine service of Goddess Shakti and doing it wrong time, Ghatasthapana is prohibited during Amavasya and night time. It is advised to avoid Nakshatra Chitra and Vaidhriti Yoga during Ghatasthapana but those are not prohibited. The most important factor to consider is that Ghatasthapana is done before Hindu midday while Pratipada is persisting.

Raksha Bandhan

Hello Friends Happy Rakhi to all of you…..Today is Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi.

Rakhi Festival is all about bond of Love between a brother and a sister. On the Rakhi Day to celebrate this emotional bonding by tying a holy thread around the wrist. This threat which sister tied around the wrist is rightly called the "Rakhi" which means a bond of protection (Raksha Bandhan) & Sisters pray for their long life. In return Brothers also gives a gift to their Sisters on this occasion. Rakhis are made of Silk with Gold or Silver Threads, beautifully crafted embroidered sequins, and studded with semi precious stones. Sisters can either buy the Rakhis or make their own from thread and crafts.


Festival is celebrated in different areas and is also known by different names. On this day, the festivities start by the day break, Everyone gets ready in the morning & gathers for the worship of God. Sisters prepare the Puja Thali with a Diya, Rice, Roli and Rakhis. Sister worships the Gods, ties Rakhi to her brother and prays for his well-being. Traditionally, they then share and eat sweets like Kaju Katli, Jalebi, and Burfi. .The family reunion is the reason for celebration. Any Indian festival is incomplete without the family get together. This day is all about raksha or protection, not just for self but for the dear ones, for peaceful creation of the human race. Each ritual that is followed has significance. Festival strengthens the bond of love between the sisters and brothers, Sisters seek love from their brothers, and the brothers seek courage and survival. People worship the Gods of water, the basis of life.

Eid-Ul-Fitr

So today is Eid ul Fitr which is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.On religious Eid is a single day on which actually Muslim Peoples are not permitted to fast. Finally The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.This is a time to give in charity as well to needy, and celebrate with family and friends the completion of a month of blessings and joy.

Just before the day of Eid, during the last few days of Ramadan, every Muslim family gives a determined amount as a donation to the poor. This donation is of actual food -- rice, barley, dates, rice, etc. -- to ensure that the needy can have a holiday meal and participate in the celebration.

As mentioned in the Quran, Muslims have to continue their fast until the last day of Ramadan and pay the Zakat and fitra before offering the Eid prayers.After Eid prayers families common visit to family members, neighbours etc to get together to share sweets,foods, & special meals on this day.

In India and rest of the Subcontinent share many similarities with regional editions because most of the Indian subcontinent was ruled as one nation during the days of the Mughal Empire and British Raj during the celebrations. Night before Eid is called "Chaand ki Raat " or can also say "Night of the Moon." Muslims in will often visit bazaars and shopping malls with their families for Eid shopping. On Eid Especially Women, Younger girls, often apply the traditional , on their hands and feet and wear colourful bangles.

On This day before prayers, people distribute a charity locally known as Fitra. Most of the people also avail themselves of this opportunity to distribute Zakat one's annual savings, to the needy. It is often distributed in the form of food and new clothes.

In India, there are many popular places for Muslims to gather to celebrate Eid at this time include the Jama Masjid (New Delhi), Mecca Masjid (Hyderabad), Aishbagh Idgah (Lucknow) in Kolkata there is a prayer held on Red Road. Muslims turn out in the thousands, with a lot of excitement surrounding the celebration of this festival. Eid is celebrated grand manner in the city of Hyderabad which has rich Islamic Heritage. Popular known Hyderabadi Haleem a type of meat stew is a dish during the month of Ramadan, which takes centre stage and becomes the main course at Iftar(the breaking of the fast).
