Eid-Ul-Fitr

So today is Eid ul Fitr which is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.On religious Eid is a single day on which actually Muslim Peoples are not permitted to fast. Finally The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.This is a time to give in charity as well to needy, and celebrate with family and friends the completion of a month of blessings and joy.

Just before the day of Eid, during the last few days of Ramadan, every Muslim family gives a determined amount as a donation to the poor. This donation is of actual food -- rice, barley, dates, rice, etc. -- to ensure that the needy can have a holiday meal and participate in the celebration.

As mentioned in the Quran, Muslims have to continue their fast until the last day of Ramadan and pay the Zakat and fitra before offering the Eid prayers.After Eid prayers families common visit to family members, neighbours etc to get together to share sweets,foods, & special meals on this day.

In India and rest of the Subcontinent share many similarities with regional editions because most of the Indian subcontinent was ruled as one nation during the days of the Mughal Empire and British Raj during the celebrations. Night before Eid is called "Chaand ki Raat " or can also say "Night of the Moon." Muslims in will often visit bazaars and shopping malls with their families for Eid shopping. On Eid Especially Women, Younger girls, often apply the traditional , on their hands and feet and wear colourful bangles.

On This day before prayers, people distribute a charity locally known as Fitra. Most of the people also avail themselves of this opportunity to distribute Zakat one's annual savings, to the needy. It is often distributed in the form of food and new clothes.

In India, there are many popular places for Muslims to gather to celebrate Eid at this time include the Jama Masjid (New Delhi), Mecca Masjid (Hyderabad), Aishbagh Idgah (Lucknow) in Kolkata there is a prayer held on Red Road. Muslims turn out in the thousands, with a lot of excitement surrounding the celebration of this festival. Eid is celebrated grand manner in the city of Hyderabad which has rich Islamic Heritage. Popular known Hyderabadi Haleem a type of meat stew is a dish during the month of Ramadan, which takes centre stage and becomes the main course at Iftar(the breaking of the fast).
